Michigan fisheries chief pushes case for increasing license fees

Current Fisheries Division Chief Randy Claramunt hadn’t yet reached 10 years of age in January of 1979 when the Michigan Department of Natural Resources published an internal report titled “Hunting and Fishing Licenses: Why the System Needs to be Changed.” The report described a looming fiscal crisis and the threat it posed to hunting and fishing programs due to budgets that were underfunded by millions of dollars.
