Ohio’s spring walleye run at its peak about now

At the end of March, the annual walleye runs in Ohio’s Sandusky and Maumee rivers were gaining momentum with anglers scoring some catches on each stream.
Paying close attention is Mike Wilkerson, fisheries management supervisor for the Division of Wildlife in Findlay, who will direct his staff to collect eggs for the state fish hatcheries to use for saugeye production for stocking inland lakes and reservoirs.
