Streams of Thought: Time for a return to turkey hunting

It’s been a few years since I’ve hunted turkeys, mostly attributable to an intense fear of Lyme disease and early wake-up calls. I suppose those are terrible or valid excuses, depending on your perspective.
But the turkey population in the neighborhood seems it could be trimmed by a tom or two, and the gobbles I hear most mornings as the pup does her thing along the edge of the woods have convinced me to make a triumphant (or something like that) return to the game, ticks and alarm clock be damned.
