For walleyes in the shallows, search and deploy

Published: , in Outdoor News

Go to any popular walleye lake during the early part of the season and you’ll see boats clumped up on all the usual hot spots. Most of those locations will be in at least 6 to 10 feet of water. On ultra-clear lakes, the depth might be double that.
When walleyes migrate from their spawning grounds and back to the main parts of lakes, they follow different routes. They stop off at different areas to feed and recuperate. And often, those routes and those areas are much more shallow than people think.
