For the second time this freshwater fishing season, a new state record fish has been caught in New York.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation recently announced that Alex Pidhorodeckyj, of Peekskill, landed a 4-pound, 1-ounce fallfish while fishing the St. Lawrence River near Massena. Pidhorodeckyj was jigging for walleyes and pike when me made the catch, which broke the previous fallfish record caught in 2009 by half a pound.
