Pennsylvania’s Woodbourne Rod and Gun Club, one of the northeast’s oldest, celebrates 100 years

Members of the Woodbourne Rod and Gun Club in Pike County, Pa., will celebrate their centennial in September with a pig roast.
It was on Labor Day weekend in 1925 that Jacob Scheese and his brothers, of Woodbourne, Bucks County, purchased property in Milford to build a cabin, from which their descendants hunt and fish today.
“It’s still standing,” said Jacob’s grandson, Ron Scheese, of the one-story timber structure he and others proudly maintain.
