Ohio’s 2025 spring was cooler than normal and wet, not the typical crappie spawning conditions I have come to know and love. The summer months may bring more surprises. One thing is for sure, crappies have moved away from their shallow-water spawning areas.
Run down from the rigors of spawning, some lack the feeding aggression displayed before the spawn. Maybe this is why some anglers dismiss their chances of finding willing biters.
