The long-standing ban on Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania has been lifted.
On July 9 Gov. Josh Shapiro signed a bill to repeal the ban – recently approved by the state Senate and House of Representatives – into law, leaving all Sunday-hunting decisions to the Game Commission. House Bill 1431, introduced by Rep. Mandy Steele, D-Allegheny, which will fully repeal the ban, passed the state Senate by a 34-16 vote and was approved by the state House by a vote of 142-61.
