I was truly surprised when the legislature in the recent state budget proceedings reckoned deep cuts in the H2Ohio Initiative.
Gov. Mike DeWine launched the water quality initiative in 2019 in an effort to improve public drinking water, restore wetlands, and to reduce agricultural runoff into the state’s waterways. To date, the program has benefitted more than 16,000 acres and enrolled more than 3,200 farmers in best management practices.
