Unexpected discovery of shallow-water ciscoes in Pennsylvania lake may help replenish Lake Erie

The salmonid’s restoration also could bode well for lake trout, another Erie native, which, coincidentally, stopped reproducing at about the same time ciscoes disappeared. Ciscoes were the lake trout’s preferred prey.
