Jeremiah Haas: Quad Cities high school team creates a bass-fishing legacy

Back in 2009, Tim Himsl, then a senior at Moline High School, had the opportunity to join the school’s fishing team, which had just become a sanctioned high school sport in Illinois.
Back then, there was one sectional tournament to qualify for the state tournament, with the top three teams advancing to state. Moline would show well in that tournament, taking first and fourth. Unfortunately for Himsl’s team, they were two fish short of a limit.
