Minnesota DNR reviews AIS aquatic plant treatment protocol due to concern for native habitat

Residents along Lake Minnetonka’s shoreline and Twin Cities Chapter of Muskies, Inc. President Jim Doyle like to say there are two different types of boat users. There are anglers who are constantly thinking about the underwater structure and vegetation while pursuing fish. And there are those who hop in a boat and view the water as simply flat.
“There are the boaters who look at it as a flat sheet of water that they drive around on and anything that impedes that is a problem for boating,” Doyle said.
The impediment? Invasive lake vegetation such as Eurasian watermilfoil.
