Last season, more bucks were taken by archery hunters than those hunting with a rifle in Pennsylvania.
It was the first time such a thing ever happened, but it doesn’t necessarily mean a sudden, drastic rise in the number of archery hunters. The popularity of archery hunting has been skyrocketing for years. It’s nothing new. But what it does indicate is that archery hunters – partly due to technological advancements in gear (crossbows) – are taking advantage when the opportunity presents itself to let an arrow, or bolt, fly.
