Tom Venesky: CWD is no reason to stop hunting

When chronic wasting disease turned up for the first time in northeastern Pennsylvania last year, there were concerns from local hunters that the presence of the disease could eventually mean the end of deer hunting in the area.
Granted this was the first time hunters living in the northeast had to deal with the risk of CWD being in the places they hunt, but the concern was valid. If it’s possible that diseased deer are wandering around in the woods, they reasoned, would hunters still be willing to hunt in those places?
