Longtime Minnesota conservation officer details the ‘tricks’ of violators

During his 18 years of protecting Beltrami County fish and wildlife in his position as a Minnesota DNR conservation officer in the Blackduck and Bemidji areas, Brice Vollbrecht has learned a great deal about people’s habits and “get-away-with-it” strategies.
Hunters stationed in duck blinds, Vollbrecht says, can be reluctant to tell a CO the truth, partly because there are many places to stash illegal birds and also because they might believe no one with law enforcement authority is anywhere close by.
