New era begins for New York crossbow hunters
Published: , in Outdoor News
Upon Gov. Kathy Hochul’s signing crossbow expansion into law, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation wasted no time communicating new crossbow hunting regulations to the public.
Hochul signed off on the law on Aug. 26, and shortly thereafter the agency posted updated regulations to its website for crossbow hunters. Most notable is the fact that crossbows can now be used during all archery seasons, with limitations in some areas, and also the fact that all licensed crossbow hunters must also posses an archery hunting privilege/license. To do so, one must pass a NYS Bowhunter Education Course.
