Better things yet to come for Minnesota bowhunters after hot opening weekend

Archery deer hunting began last weekend – just in time for a September warmup that included temperatures that soared to around 90 degrees in southern parts of Minnesota, and lingered in the 80s for much of the rest of the state. Those temperatures held deep into the work week.
That, as would be expected, wasn’t a recipe for successful deer harvest, or a mad rush to deer stands on Saturday and Sunday.
