Minnesota’s Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council considers 54 projects that total over $500 million

Another cycle of hopeful applicants pitched their respective projects to Minnesota’s Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council during two late-August meetings that lasted almost 19 hours collectively.
Various projects to expand wildlife habitat for prairie bird species in the southern parts of the state, expanding wildlife management areas, land acquisition, or habitat enhancement work around the state are on the table. In total, the 54 projects sought more than $500 million in funding from the outdoor heritage fund.
