Illinois DNR asks anglers to keep smaller bass at Lake Sara in Effingham County

DNR continues its work to manage the largemouth bass population in Lake Sara, a 640-acre body of water in Effingham County.
A protected slot limit put in place back in 2017 appears to be assisting in the effort, but fisheries biologists are encouraging anglers to keep more bass below that 15- to 18-inch slot. In other words, keep smaller bass.
