Michigan hunters face multiple challenges during early elk season

“It was a challenging year.”
That’s how Michigan Department of Natural Resources wildlife biologist Shelby Adams summed up the early elk season that concluded on September 29.
“We had that ice storm last March, and (the downed trees from storm damage) had an impact on elk movement and hunter’s ability to move around and get to the elk,” Adams told Michigan Outdoor News.
