The death of a kayaker at Acme Dam Lake in Westmoreland County was still under investigation Sept. 25, according to the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission and the Westmoreland County coroner’s office.
David Dirado, 67, of Hempfield died Sept. 17 during an outing on the 24-acre lake in Chestnut Ridge Park, Mount Pleasant Township, with family and friends. A coroner’s report stated that Dirado “appeared to have fallen out of the kayak into the water” at around 1:05 p.m., but a cause of death was pending Sept. 25, said chief deputy coroner Albert Lorenzo.
