Streams of Thought: A few tweaks suggested for Minnesota’s pheasant, waterfowl seasons

Pheasant numbers were high, the air was cool, a light breeze blew on clear skies, the grassy cover was moist with dew, and nearly all corn had been harvested from fields across southern Minnesota.
That is my dream for a pheasant-hunting opener, although I’m quite certain it’s a dream never to be realized – much like my dream last night of winning a $100,000 fishing tournament: disputed, yes, but a victory nonetheless.
