Ortonville in spotlight for Minnesota Governor’s pheasant hunt opener

Published: , in Outdoor News

Hunters adorned with blaze orange last Saturday hit the public lands surrounding Ortonville in western Minnesota, where the DNR, Explore Minnesota, and the Governor’s Office hosted the 13th annual pheasant-hunting opener event.
It’s an annual festivity that holds special meaning for Gov. Tim Walz, he said.
“We were pheasant hunters, not deer hunters, pheasant and grouse,” Walz told Outdoor News, regarding his outdoor experience.
