Wisconsin DNR urges hunters to have harvested deer CWD tested

Testing hunter-harvested deer is one of the best ways to know where chronic wasting disease (CWD) exists in Wisconsin, according to Erin Larson, who emphasized the need for hunters to have their deer tested for CWD.
“CWD testing is free and available to hunters statewide, however there are priority areas where we especially want to obtain more samples,” said Larson, Department of Natural Resources (DNR) herd health specialist.
