Last year’s furbearer harvest stable in Minnesota

Unlike last year when the Minnesota DNR extended the otter season, and trapping opportunities for fisher and bobcats expanded to the southern half of the state, trappers shouldn’t expect any changes to this years’ regulations.
“This year, we’re about stability. We’re just basically evaluating the changes that we made last year and making sure it’s working, both biologically and for trappers,” said Jason Abraham, a DNR furbearer specialist.
