Rare sea duck hanging around Minnesota’s Lake Bemidji

Despite their name, common eiders are uncommon in Minnesota, but there have been at least two sightings of this sea duck in the state so far this November.
Alex Burchard found a common eider on Nov. 21 while birding Lake Bemidji. The bird consistently has been seen from the shores of Paul Bunyan State Park.
