Minnesota DNR completes aerial surveys of northeastern trout streams

Each year, the Duluth and Hinckley area fisheries offices work with Minnesota DNR pilots to traverse miles of riverways to locate any blockages that may inhibit natural trout movement.
This year’s helicopter surveys just wrapped up in the northeast at the Knife River.
“It’s our longest-running survey, as far as the helicopters are concerned. … It’s pretty critical for the trout,” DNR pilot Grace Zeller said.
