Is an ice-fishing season on its way for Ohio anglers? Here are some best bets for first ice

Are we going to get some ice this winter fishing season in Ohio? It is starting to look that way. The ocean wind and temperature occurring over the central and eastern Pacific Ocean encouraged forecasters to announce a weak La Nina. This forecast has led to above average precipitation in the past.
What matters to me, when Pacific water cools to below average temperatures, is whether the La Nina conditions will weaken the jet stream. A strong jet stream separates Arctic air from the Ohio Valley. A weakened jet stream can wobble, increasing the potential for harsh weather.
