Whitefish, cold water, and lessons learned beneath the surface

Whitefish? Yes, please.
Some of my earliest memories take me back to St. Ignace, Michigan. A family member owned a small smoke shop there, and he’d arise early to catch whitefish from Lake Huron, smoking them fresh following his morning haul. As a kid, I couldn’t stop eating it.
