Salmonid egg collection to benefit Illinois, Wisconsin waters of Lake Michigan

Published: , in Outdoor News

Three million fish eggs destined for the Lake Michigan waters of Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin have been collected in Michigan as part of an effort to keep the salmon fishery intact.
Specifically, Michigan’s DNR has been working throughout the fall gathering the eggs to produce fish for stocking. Fall egg collections have been completed for wild Chinook and coho salmon and for captive broodstocks of brown, brook, and lake trout.
