New Adirondack Brook Trout Pond Management Plan built to protect a ‘precious resource’

Nearly two years after first engaging anglers on the topic, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has released a final Adirondack Brook Trout Pond Management Plan.
Among the proposals in the 15-year plan (2026-2040) is a future ban on the use of baitfish within the Blue Line of the Adirondack Park (with a long list of exempted lakes), and maintaining the current five fish of any size limit.
