New York Reader Stories: It’s often best to listen to the old-timers

If you’ve ever had the opportunity, some might say “privilege,” of knowing an old-timer who has been there and done that, a seasoned old hunter who knows the woods and who knows the game and who is willing to share his knowledge, consider yourself lucky.
I am among the fortunate ones who knew such a man.
