Ohio’s Bucyrus fur auction canceled, but Kidron still on tap

Due to not enough trappers registering for the Bucyrus fur auction, the Ohio State Trappers Association (OSTA) cancelled it, with Kidron becoming the organization’s sole event of this type in 2026.
With less than 10 sellers registering ahead of time, fewer buyers would have elected to attend in Bucyrus, which would have likely led to lower prices offered for the pelts, according to OSTA fur auction coordinator Shawn Bentley.
