Glenn Sapir: Time spent with the ‘Big Three’ of outdoor magazines holds special memories

As I write this column for the most popular outdoors publication in New York State, I think about my relationship not only with New York Outdoor News, but also other sporting periodicals. Being 77 years of age, I have a long history upon which to reminisce, and the memories are uplifting.
In the 1950s my relationship began, when as a preteen I actually received a letter in the mail. Any piece of mail addressed to me was exciting, but to receive an offer for three issues of Outdoor Life Magazine for 25 cents was tremendous.
