Northwest Minnesota elk survey wrapping up after a delay
Published: , in Outdoor News
A northwestern Minnesota DNR wildlife team is wrapping up its efforts to survey the three elk herds – Grygla, Kittson-Central, and Caribou-Vita.
“There was quite a bit of a delay early on. We were hoping to have this done by now, but weather got in the way, including some mechanical issues that had to be resolved with the aircraft and those kinds of things,” said Blane Klemek, the DNR’s northwest regional wildlife manager.
He added that despite the delays, it might have worked out in the agency’s favor since there wasn’t as much snowfall as there is now.
