Commentary: Contact Wisconsin senators to move hunter safety in-person training bill forward

In January, the Wisconsin State Assembly unanimously passed AB-270, a bill that would require those students ages 17 and younger to take an in-person, hands-on Department of Natural Resources (DNR) hunter safety course and exam in order to receive certification to hunt.
Led by Rep. Treig Pronchinske (R-Mondovi), Chairman of the Assembly Sporting Heritage Committee, this bill was overwhelmingly supported by both sides of the aisle. Meanwhile, the five-member Senate Sporting Heritage Committee has received the senate version of AB-270 in order to take action on it.
