Quartering deer in the field, landowner turkey preference up for debate during Wisconsin spring hearings

Wisconsin hunters could quarter or bone out deer they harvest and leave the inedible parts in the woods if a Department of Natural Resources (DNR) advisory question to be offered at the annual spring hearings April 8 were supported and eventually became a rule change.
The DNR received approval from the Natural Resources Board (NRB) at the board’s
Feb. 28 meeting to ask five advisory questions involving wildlife management when the public votes in person Monday, April 8, or online from April 10-13.
