Upper Mississippi River Refuge set to celebrate 100 years

Will Dilg may be unknown to most hunters, trappers, and anglers who enjoy Mississippi River outings, but that should no longer be the case in 2024, with this year marking the 100th anniversary of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. Dilg is the “father” of that 261-mile gem of a refuge.
The refuge stretches from Wabasha, Minn., to Rock Island, Ill., and protects more than 240,000 acres of Mississippi River floodplain.
