Two years ago, in early 2022, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s fisheries team was in the process of rewriting several freshwater fishing regulations.
At that time brook trout management was set aside with the idea that eventually the state’s official freshwater fish would have its own management plan. That time has come.
