If you’ve never been lost, you probably have a great sense of direction, an internal compass, or a very short leash. Or like Daniel Boone, maybe you got turned around once or twice but never “lost.”
In some references to Boone’s oft-quoted remark, “turned around” becomes “confused” or “bewildered,” and “three days” becomes “several weeks.” I suppose if you are ever that bewildered, three days can seem like an eternity.
