Minnesotan participates in World Ice Fishing Championship in Mongolia

How many American anglers have ice-fished in Mongolia? Not many.
First, there’s the 34-hour flight to the other side of the world. Then, there’s 50 inches of ice to drill through. And that’s just the start of the culture shock … you may be served marmot for supper.
Yet Minnesota native Sean Warner, of Andover, earned precisely these bragging rights in March. He traveled across 13 time zones (flying Minneapolis- Chicago-Istanbul-Ulaanbaatar, followed by a 500-km drive) to fish for Team Norway at the 20th World Ice Fishing Championship.
