New York’s youth turkey hunters ready to hit the woods April 20-21

New York’s annual youth turkey hunt is April 20-21. Since 2004 the hunt has provided excellent opportunities for junior hunters (ages 12-15) to go afield with an experienced adult mentor and is quite often their first real hunting experience.
For weeks leading up to the hunt, several conservation organizations have been hosting special events to help prepare young hunters for the special hunt. In other cases, they are taken afield by parents or other family members and friends who are experienced hunters.
