Wisconsin DNR working with USFWS on lake sturgeon, with no update yet on possible ESL listing

The Wisconsin DNR has no idea just where the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service might land on a decision to place lake sturgeon on the federal Endangered Species List (ESL).
That, in a nutshell, was the message from DNR Fish Biologist Tom Meronek, of Wautoma, during the April 8 Waupaca County spring fish and wildlife hearing at Waupaca High School.
