Fishing the large waterway of Pennsylvania’s Big Pine Creek is tough chore right now, but the trout are there

This past Sunday morning I headed to camp in Tioga County to visit one of my favorite Pennsylvania trout streams, the Big Pine Creek.
Through the many years, I’ve cast nymphs, dry and wet flies and occasional plugs. The majority of my angling here has taken place from the upper section in Potter County near the town of Galeton, downstream through the magnificent Pennsylvania Grand Canyon section, and ending about a mile or so below the little hamlet of Blackwell.
