Grass carp eradication program continues in Ohio

A foreign fish once considered a harmless migrant to the United States is getting additional attention from the Ohio Division of Wildlife (DOW) in order to control its numbers and threats to Lake Erie.
Grass carp, a variety of carp from the Far East, seem to love the shallow waters of the lake’s Western Basin, as well as its tributary streams, according to John Navarro, a DOW fisheries program administrator.
